Using listener or artist drops.

I realize I’ve said this before but these can become overused quickly and if you use the same artists or listener drops in multiple pieces of imaging it becomes noticeable.

Create a track under your Voiceover track called drops. Ad dynamic compression to the track as explained above and use the stock – Aggressive Vocal preset. If you have written in your script where a drop is to be and or the text spoken by the listener or artist it will be easy to find where to import them. Again you want the drops to gently crossfade at the end of your spoken vo. You also want to take special care and listen to each drop you are using after it is in the project to hear it’s volume and any extra noise in the background, is it rumbly or windy? Perform a 100 HZ high pass on it in Goldwave as explained above. Can you not get the volumes just right because the dynamics of the speakers are so different? Ad another layer of compression or two using the same preset as mentioned above. This should help even things out. Play it back with your entire project, can you understand what the drop is saying? Does one drop have harsh reverb on it and the rest don’t? Add some verb to the track to make things fit. Does the drops content fit your script or genre? No joke, I heard a drop for winning T-Pane tickets within imaging on a country station and thought as a producer WTF?
